Medical Collector
Overview
The Medical Collector is responsible for managing daily operations to ensure efficient patient financial services, with a strong emphasis on collections from insurance companies. Key duties include verifying insurance eligibility, reviewing authorizations, and accurately inputting data into EMR and practice management systems. They determine patient financial responsibility based on EOBs and contracts, research patient demographics, and collaborate with physicians on medical necessity appeals. The role requires excellent communication skills, analytical abilities, and proficiency in computer systems and EMR. Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of healthcare collections experience, preferably in Oncology or Imaging settings.
Qualifications include the ability to multi-task, work independently, and demonstrate professionalism. The position also involves working effectively with team members to ensure quality care and seamless processes.
